Hi kira. Usually I would suggest you take part in AvA over ptp but seeing as AvA is down right now and there is extra xp on ptp attacks you could do some. With ptp you can only send out a maximum of 15 hostile actions per 24 hours to each player (that's fight, harass, sabo, steal and swindle). You can send as many as you like of the friendly actions but yo get less xp from them. Make sure you have your best gear on your main character for whichever action type you are sending. With AvA, you will see which region/s we have camps in when you go into the AvA screen. Put your ss in the camp type matching the action type that you plan to send your ss on i.e fight/harass/aid in the battle camp etc. This is because the camps give a bonus and increase the strength of the actions matching the type they are. Of course any alliances that have a green ally symbol on them you must avoid sending hostile actions to but feel free to send them friendly ones. Make sure to check our own camp and how they are looking. If they are damaged then you can put your ss in them and send aid actions to help heal them. If the silver pool is low you can send barters from them to build it back up. Also click on the upgrade button to see what you can contribute to upgrade them to the next level. If they need spoils then send out your ss on actions of that type so you can earn those spoils and contribute them to the camps. Also if you have ss in camps then you should check them now and then and if they have a few wound on them then you should take them out and replace them with healthy ss so they are not killed. I could write an essay but I won't here. This is the basics anyway. Here is a link as well which has loads of info on gameplay and how everything works: gotascent.wikia.com/ Check it out. For more help or advice on anything more specific though, please just ask either here on raven me in the game. Glad to have you on the team

Thank-you very much, I have checked out the wiki as well I was just wondering how you tell if an alliance is large or small in the war target page, just by their rank number? AS well how do I tell if someone is an ally for PtP? Thanks Again

You can see how many members an alliance has by clicking on their name when you are on the war targets page. This will bring up info like all their members and our diplomacy stance with them. You will see how many members they have there as well. However, often alliances with many inactive and less developed players will be weaker than alliances with a small number of very strong players. If you combine their number of players with their position of the leader board it will give you a pretty good idea of what they are capable of.
With the ptp, the best way to see if someone is in an ally alliance to avoid sending them any hostile actions is to click on their alliance name when you are on the ptp page. This will bring up the same info as when you click on the alliance names in the AvA war targets page. There you will see our diplomacy with them i.e enemy, neutral or ally. When you click the x to close that page you will still be on the ptp page and can continue to send your ss.

Here are some answers to questions that have been asked on the game chat (game chat = the alliance chat box in GotA which also shows alliance activity) - How does AvA work and how can I contribute? - When there is an AvA (alliance vs alliance) phase in progress, each alliance will choose a region to participate in (i.e The North, The Westerlands etc) and will build up to three camps in that chosen region. All alliances that have built camps in the same region will be competing to get as high on the ranking table as possible. The higher your alliance finishes at the end of the phase the better the rewards you and your teammates will receive. You also have to opportunity to earn personal rewards during each phase by building up your personal VP (victory points). You earn VP by send your ss (sworn swords) out to attack our alliances enemies or help our allies. You earn VP from each of your ss wins. The VP you earn will be added to the total VP that your alliance has accumulated and help to get you higher in the rankings. Each camp also gives your alliance a certain amount of VP each hour depending on what level it is and if it is damaged or not. Aggressive actions (fight, harass, swindle, bribe, steal, sabotage) give you more VP for each win. Be aware that if you lose an aggressive action your ss will get a wound (indicated by a red slash on the image of the ss). The wounds will heal over time but if an ss gets 5 wounds then they will be dead. You can replace a dead ss which will cost some silver and take some time and also reduce the ss by one level, or you can bury the ss and you will lose it completely.
To be able to send out your ss, first you must go to the region where the alliance has camps and then slick on 'manage camps'. Then you must click on 'garrison'. Here you will see how many ss your alliance has in that particular camp and also how many you have. Then choose which ss you want to add to the camp (you can use the filter option to make easier to find the type of ss you want to add, i.e fighter, bribers, spies etc). When you have put your chosen ss where you want them then you go to the War Targets page and choose which alliance to send your ss to by click 'Go' next to the alliance name and then you will have a screen to chose what type of actions you want to send to that alliance. Your actions will hit as soon as you have sent them but then you must wait for a time for your ss to return before sending them again. For incoming attacks, an ss in our camp will be chosen to defend and the game will select the defender by finding an ss matching the type of attack or if there is no ss in our camp of the samne type then the game will try to find the best ss to defend from what ss are garrisoned. When your ss are on there way back to camp they cannot be harmed but if they are left in the camp when other alliances send aggressive actions to a camp that you have ss in then your ss will be wounded from losing against them and will die if they get 5 wounds.
To contribute to a camp to help upgrade it, you must click on 'manage camp' and then on 'upgrade'. You will see which items are needed to get the camp to the next level. If you have the required items already you select how many you wish to contribute and then select send. If you do not have any then you can go and craft them in your buildings. A list of items need for camp upgrades can be found here on the forum. One thing that camps also need to be upgraded is spoils. These cannot be crafted and must be earned from your ss winning actions. You can only earn the spoil type matching the type of action that you ss won on i.e. fight, harass and aid wins will earn you battle spoils. The camp upgrades take time and will stack so for example a camp may be on level 10 but already be queued to level to 16. If the camp is already queued to the highest level then you cannot contribute anymore to that camp. Levels go up to 20.

How do pacts work? - You can enter into a marriage pact or have you son and daughter in a betrothal pact with other players. You will only be able to make a pact with players who also have that same pact type free and do not have one with someone else already. You will only be able to chose to send a pact request to players who are in you friend list. The daughter and son betrothal pacts do nothing but give you a small amount of power (the power that determines the player ranking which is essentially meaningless). The marriage pact however allows you to send a marriage gift to your beloved every 24 hours. You will be able to send either ale or bacon. Bacon is more useful as it allows you to speed up quests and adventures by 15 minutes. I would advise you to choose wisely who you enter into a marriage pact with if you want to give and receive your bacon regularly as there is no way to divorce. Only if you or the player who you have a pact with reincarnates will the pact you have be cancelled and you be able to make a new one.
To enter into a pact with another player you need to click on the picture of your character in the top left of your screen. Then click on 'pacts and power'. Then click on send request and a list of your friends who are available for that pact will come up. Click on the name of the player who you want to send the request to and then click select. Either the other player will accept and you will have a pact or they will not and you will have to wait a while before you can send a request again.

What are tactics and how do they work? - When you go to the alliance page there is the tactics. There are two types of tactics, 'Alliance Tactics' and 'My Tactics'. The alliance tactics give different advantages to the whole alliance such as stronger defense and attacks or faster attacks. These will mainly be used during AvA phases to give an advantage to the alliance. Each of these tactics has a description of what is does. Anyone in the alliance can contribute prestige to them and once they are full they are ready to be activated. Only the leader and officers are able to activate these tactics and once they are they will only last for three days.
'My tactics' are tactics that only affect your character. You can fill these with your prestige and activate them however you like. They give bonuses such as faster production of certain items or more experience for you ss on quests and adventures. They will also last just three days from when you activate them.
What is prestige? - Prestige is what you you to open you tactics or contribute to alliance tactics. You can earn it from opening Quarter Master boxes and you can also earn it from successfully completing quests and adventures. You will be able to earn up to 2000 per day (not including what you get from the QM). If you go to the alliance page an put your cursor over the star in the top right it will tell you how much % of your daily 2000 prestige limit you have earned. Once you reach the limit you will then be able to claim you second daily QM box.

What is diplomacy? - Diplomacy is quite simply our alliances relationship with other alliances. There are three different options, ally, neutral or enemy. The leadership of the alliance will set an alliance to ally (green) if we have good relations with them and you can send friendly actions to them during AvA phases. We can also call on these alliances for help if we need it during AvA and vice versa.
If an alliance is set to enemy (red) then you can send your aggressive actions to them during AvA. Don't be surprised if you see them attacking us as well.
If an alliance is neutral (grey) it means that we have not had cause to make them an enemy nor be friendly with them. You are free to send aggressive actions to these alliances but avoid sending to the same one repeatedly as that could start a war which we don't want between us. Especially avoid attacking alliances who are very high up the leader board as if they decide to attack us it is likely that they will crush us. We are not yet strong enough to defend against powerful alliances.
